DVD Tuesday – February 9, 2010

Valentine’s Day must be coming but the outlook is fairly bleak if you look at this week’s DVD releases for Tuesday February 9, 2010.

A Serious Man – The new film from Academy Award-winning writer/directors Joel and Ethan Coen. The film is the story of an ordinary man’s search for clarity in a universe. It is 1967, and Larry Gopnik (Michael Stuhlbarg), a physics professor at a quiet Midwestern university, has just been informed by his wife Judith (Sari Lennick) that she is leaving him.  Check out our review!

Couples Retreat –  Starting Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell.   Four couples go to a tropical island resort. While one couple is there to work on their marriage, the others are there to play but soon discover that participation in the resort’s couples therapy is not optional.  Check out our review!

The Time Traveler’s Wife –  An adaptation of the novel staring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana. The love story focuses on a couple in which the man has a genetic disorder known as “chrono-impairment,” a condition that causes him to involuntarily travel through time.
