Toronto Comedy: At Home By Myself…With You

A new Canadian comedy, At Home By Myself…With You, is opening this Friday, March 5th at The Royal.  Shot in Toronto and directed by Torontonian Kris Booth (his first feature film) the movie stars some familiar Canadian faces and has the venerable actor Gordon Pinsent for its narrator.  According to the cinema’s website, director Kris Booth and guests will be attending each screening at The Royal.

The film’s main character, Romy (Kristin Booth), is afraid of everything, including leaving her apartment.  When a hot new neighbour (Aaron Abrams) moves in, her world is turned upside down.  They eventually become friends, and then Romy must decide whether or not she can face her fears for the sake of the budding romance.

So if you’re looking for a lovely, lighthearted romantic comedy, At Home By Myself…With You looks like a sound bet.  And since it was filmed right here in our very own city, you can watch out for any identifiable Toronto landmarks – one of my favourite activities.

The film’s official website can be found here.  It will screen daily at The Royal, 608 College St, from Friday March 5th through to Thursday March 11th (times vary, so please check the cinema’s website).
