On Tuesday, May 18th, the NFB Mediatheque presents a free screening of The Peacekeepers , Paul Cowan’s 2005 documentary, winner of an award for ‘significant contribution to human rights awareness’. The film follows United Nations Peacekeepers in their attempts to avert another ethnic cleansing disaster, this time in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The screening will be held at the NFB Toronto Mediatheque (150 John St) at 7pm, and will be followed by a discussion with Rob Acheson (co-chair of the Toronto chapter of the Canadian Department of Peace Initiative) and Bodia Macharia (President of Friends of the Congo).
