Last week, Toronto’s finest young filmmakers were given the opportunity to present their short films in the Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival. There were three nights of screenings, each featuring a different topic; Twenty Four without Kiefer (participants of the T24 race), Reflections of the World at Home, and Personal Journeys. The filmmakers provided a little Q&A action each night for post-screening enjoyment. TFS writer Kelly Stewart was also in attendance and you can peruse his observations from Twenty Four without Kiefer, Reflections of the World at Home, and Personal Journeys at your leisure.

The week ended on a high note with a ceremony on Saturday night to celebrate the talent and hard work of all participating filmmakers. Awards, chosen by a jury of TYS staff, seasoned pro’s, and past contestants, were given to honour the excellence of work displayed throughout the program in all categories. The TYS website has now posted a list of the recipients of this year’s awards, and you can take a look here. There is also a bunch of videos, commentaries, and interviews on the TYS youtube channel just in case you missed a night or want to relive the experience a bit.
