The Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival is an annual event that gives film and video artists aged 18 to 28 a platform to present their short works. The festival is not only a great showcase for young emerging artists’ work, but it also provides a venue for these artists to hone their skills and get feedback on their work from industry professionals.

This year’s festival takes place on the weekend of June 18th, 2011. Submissions are now being accepted in all formats, and all kinds of genres (from documentary to animation, from fiction to experimental). The only caveat is that your work must be under 20 minutes in length. Visit the submissions page for more details. The deadline for submissions is April 29th at 6 pm. Time to get moving! You can also keep up to speed with what’s happening through the Youth Shorts blog.
