Ok, this is kinda cool. The Toronto Port Authority, in celebration of its 100th anniversary, is combining drive-in movie nostalgia with boats on the water! Starting tonight, Thursday August 18th and running until Saturday August 20th, you can take in free movies down at Toronto’s Sugar Beach (25 Dockside Drive).
Rather appropriately, the films on offer are rather nautical in nature. Thursday’s show is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (the old Disney classic); on Friday, it’s Spielberg’s classic film, Jaws ; and Saturday’s feature is the animated feature Finding Nemo plays. Something for everyone – it’s all rated either G or PG, so family friendly to be sure.
So, get your lawn chair or blanked (or your boat, if you’ve got one) and make plans to see the first ever Sail-In Cinema! For all the information and to get your free tickets in advance, head on over to the Sail-In Cinema website.
