I love short films! They’re such bite-sized movie goodness. But we don’t really get an opportunity to watch them a lot, and really – where do you start? Well, in 2012, someone will be doing all the hard work for you. Beginning this month, Shorts That Are Not Pants will be partnering with Future Shorts and the NFB to bring you curated program of short films on a quarterly basis.
The inaugural Shorts That Are Not Pants program will screen this Friday, January 13 at 7:00 pm, and will feature short films from the Future Shorts “Pop Up Festival,” and two animated shorts from the NFB (including Wild Life). Other shorts to be screened are David O’Reilly’s The External World, Oscar-winner God of Love, and Luminaris.
Tickets are $10 at the door, or $8 if you buy in advance. Of course, if you wear shorts to the screening, you can get in for the low, low price of $5. (Quite a deal, if it’s not too cold on Friday.) The screening takes place at the NFB Mediatheque (150 John Street at Richmond). For more information, please visit the Shorts That Are Not Pants website.
