Lost and Found The Flying Classroom Fantastic Mr. Fox
Family Day Free Stuff at TIFF Bell Lightbox

Free? Yep, I said it! TIFF Bell Lightbox has a slew of family-friendly free stuff going on for – yes, you guessed it – Family Day. Had you forgotten that there’s a relatively new statutory holiday right here in the middle of February? Well, TIFF is stepping up to the plate to entertain you and yours with screenings and workshops for the long weekend. And it’s not all just for the kids…

First of all, on Saturday and Sunday (February 18 and 19), it’s Bell Free Weekend and all regular film screenings at the TIFF Bell Lightbox are FREE! I’m talking all films, including new releases and family films. There’s way too much to cover in this short news post, but it includes Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox (I love that movie!), The Flying Classroom, Con Air, Nicholas Ray’s King of Kings, and the documentary Circus Dreams – just to name a few. So head on over to the TIFF calendar to see all the films and showtimes.

On Monday, February 20 (Family Day proper), the family-friendly content continues with more free screenings and workshops. You can make buttons, experiment with green screens and puppetry, or participate in a voice-dubbing workshop. All workshops will be held between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm throughout the weekend. Alternatively, you can just kick back and relax in one of the theatres for a movie.

Please visit the TIFF Bell Lightbox website for all the details on this coming weekend of free programming for all ages.
