This week at TIFF Bell Lightbox: May 3-9

Two legends are coming to TIFF Bell Lightbox this week: director Guillermo del Toro and actress Kathleen Turner!

Film Programmes

Beginning Monday, May 7 Guillermo del Toro will present and discuss his favourite Alfred Hitchcock films in Hitchcock Master Classes with Guillermo del Toro. Four different Hitchcock classics will be presented over four nights with Notorious and Frenzy playing this week:

In Notorious a secret agent uses the daughter of a convicted Nazi spy to help him infiltrate a spy ring. It’s suspense and a love triangle in this classic starring Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. Screens Monday, May 7 at 7:00 pm.

In Frenzy an innocent man is framed by a serial killer and escapes from prison to prove his innocence and exact vengeance. A suspenseful and at times grotesque film, but the famous Hitchcockian wit is ever present. Playing Tuesday, May 8 at 7:00 pm.

Talks

Prior to her Toronto debut in Matthew Lombardo’s play High, legendary actress of both stage and screen, Kathleen Turner will be stopping by TIFF on Monday, May 7 at 8:00 pm to discuss her long and distinguished career. Turner is one of the truly great leading ladies and In Conversation With Kathleen Turner is definitely an event you will not want to miss.
