DIY Art and Life: A Day with Joe Swanberg is co-presented by Ultra8 Pictures, CINSSU and Refocus, featuring the Toronto premiere of Swanberg’s Full Moon trilogy, including Art History, The Zone and Silver Bullets. The film screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions and a filmmaking masterclass after the final film.
Since 2005, Joe Swanberg has written and directed a dozen independent films and has established himself as a major player in the American indie film scene with films premiering at Sundance, Berlin and SXSW film festivals. His signature DIY approach to filmmaking and unique writing style lends an intimacy to his work and has established a loyal fan base.
The day starts with Art History at 4:00 pm, The Zone at 6:00 pm, and Silver Bullets at 8:00 pm, followed by the extended discussion class. The first two films cost $8 each, and the last one (including discussion) goes for $12. But you can buy an entire event pass for just $25.
It all takes place on May 13, 2012 at Innis Town Hall. Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite.
