Back to the Future II
SequelSeries presents: Back to the Future 2

Give it up for Tegan&Holly, who have brilliantly fused the finest things Toronto can offer in one event: friends, drinks, music, and so-bad-they’re-good film sequels. Wow. Seriously, applaud. This 2nd edition of SequelSeries features the return of Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) in Back to the Future 2 (1989) – where we go forward, and back, and forward again, and hopefully everyone survives. Robert Zemeckis returns to the director’s chair and does a bang up job in this oh so ’80s time traveling adventure. Marty travels to the future to prevent some bad things going down, but then must travel to the past again and not upset the present. What?

And I know what you’re wondering. Yes, Elijah Wood does make an appearance. Let’s be honest here, Elijah Wood is the bacon of Hollywood; everything is better with him. That being said, there’s a heck of a lot of talent in this film (Fox, Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Elizabeth Shue and Billy Zane. Woah), and there’s a heck of a lot of talent at this event! DJ Ben Cormier takes the stage as cinema becomes dance party, with The Lazy DJs (DJ Dick Van Hymen) rounding out the night with their own glorious ’80s tracks.

It’s all going down this Friday, June 1 at Cinecycle (129 Spadina Ave). Tickets are $5 in advance (click here for purchase) or $7 at the door. Doors (in an alley behind 129 Spadina Ave) open at 9:00 pm.

SequelSeries takes pride in pairing sequels with local musical talent for an incredible night out in Toronto. Next on the docket is Troll 2 (did that really need to happen? Nobody’s sure, but since it did, why not grab a few drinks with friends, watch it, and dance away the willies). For more information on this and other events, check out Tegan&Holly’s website here.
