The Vancouver Institute of Media Arts (VANARTS) presents a rare and exciting opportunity to learn storytelling and animation techniques from the best in the business: Pixar Animation Studios. The Masterclass in Animation and Story Development is on July 27 and 28, 2012, and is located at Innis Town Hall in the University of Toronto.
The workshop covers two subject matters over its two full days. On day one, Friday July 27, 2012, there is a story development class instructed by Matthew Luhn, Head of Story at Pixar. Elements of his workshop include: steps of storyboarding; three-act structure development; a Q & A and a special guest talk from Emma Coats, a storyboard artist from Pixar. The second day of the masterclass features comprehensive lessons in animation from Andrew Gordon, an animator at Pixar who has worked on almost all of their films.
The tuition fee for the two-day Pixar Artists’ Masterclass is $499. Register for the program as soon as possible, because space is limited — 60% of seats have already sold out as of Thursday July 12, 2012.
