Today on the Scene: screenings and film fun for Friday, September 21, 2012

Ah it’s here… the weekend! Toronto, as always, has more movie goodness than you can shake a stick at.  Here’s what’s happening today on the Scene for Friday, September 21, 2012.

Kick butt and take names later at the  The Carlton Cinema  with  Resident Evil: Retribution  at  1:55 pm, 4:20 pm, 6:55 pm, and 9:05 pm,  Dredd  at  1:40 pm, 4:30 pm, 7:10 pm, and 9:20 pm, or -for something entirely different – The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel  at  1:30 pm or 6:55 pm.

Catch  The Intouchables  at 7:00 pm and Take this Waltz  at 9:15 pm today at the  Revue Cinema.

East enders can catch  Hope Springs  at 7:00 pm or  The Dark Knight Rises  at 9:00 pm  at the  Fox Theatre.

The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema  is screening Wagner and Me  at 4:00 pm and 6:45 pm, The Day After Peace at 9:15 pm,  and The Rocky Horror Picture Show – Toronto Shadow Cast  at 11:30 pm.

The Royal offers up  Head Games  at 7:00 pm, The Campaign at 9:00 pm,  and    The Room  at 11:30 pm.

TIFF Bell Lightbox remains closed with they sweep up the popcorn from the festival and prep for Fall season of programming.

Looking for something a little different. You can relive James Cameron’s shame at Trash Palace at 9:30 pm with Piranha II: The Spawning.

Or you can get your suspense on at CINSSU with a Hitchcock double bill of Psycho and Marnie. Film rolls at 7:00 pm.
