Do you ever wake up screaming? A shadowy group calling themselves the Toronto Film Noir Syndicate is betting that you do. And on Saturday, September 29, 2012 they’ll launch the new film noir screening series”Film Noir Confidential” with 1941′s I Wake Up Screaming.
You can get your noir on with this dark thriller starring Victor Mature, Betty Grable, Carole Landis, and the ever creepy Laird Cregar. When model Vicky Lynn is murdered, promoter Frankie Christopher is hauled down to the station for a grilling. I Wake Up Screaming unravels Vicky Lynn’s death, and the part Frankie may or may not have played in it, in shadowy flashbacks.
You can catch this noir at The Dominion on Queen, 500 Queen Street East. Screening time is 8:00 pm, but you can arrive early for some eats, some drinks, and some bonus shorts and trailers.
