It’s official. The Toronto After Dark Film Festival announced the final 11 feature films on Friday, September 28, 2012 and announced the full schedule on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. Now it’s time to break out the calendar and figure out your Toronto After Dark schedule.
The expanded 2012 festival covers nine nights from October 18 to October 26 and includes 20 feature films and a host of shorts, and returns home to the Bloor Cinema. In addition to the fantastic line-up of films on offer, be sure to pencil in time for the related festival events. After each night’s screening, you can join other genre-film fans across the street from the Cinema at the Pauper’s Pub for some brews and schmoozing. This year the Toronto After Dark Film Festival is also hosting The Darkade at the pub, where you can play some of the best Indie video games on offer. And of course, there’s the Toronto Zombie Walk scheduled for October 20.
The lineup includes American Mary, the story of an unregulated medical student doing body modification in underground clubs (check out this great interview with directors The Soska Sisters); Cockneys vs Zombies, zombies come to Ireland and the Irish drink their way out; and My Amityville Horror, in which Amityville survivor Daniel Lutz opens up about his own experience in the house.
If you’re salivating for the latest and greatest horror, sci-fi, action and cult movies the Toronto After Dark Film Festival is the place to be. Visit their website for the full schedule, to watch trailers from all of the features, and to find ticket purchasing information.
