Agree with you both, as predictable as these flics are, who can resist falling in love in a romantic back drop like Ireland, Tuscany, Barcelona. I’ll pay my 12 bucks and go for the ride.

Awesome review.

I think leap year is an example of a love story that is re-told over and over only with different characters- some hotter, some not so hot.

I would have to agree with you– the trailer seems to tell it all. Girl goes on amission, girl meets boy, girl falls in love and gets caught in a love triangle. I think the obstentatious scenery is what draws viewers in and it would work amongst aloof young adults who enjoy fluffy, lacking in substance romantic comedies.

The movie itself and its lonly star character George is in fact a sole and isolated individual devoted to his misery and broken-heartedness.

The movie itself is a commentary on the life of a homosexual man in the past.

Its kind of a funny film, because although it deals with subjects of homosexuality, it has not gained not even a fraction of such similar films like Milk and Brokeback Mountain. Just goes to show how these themes and issues in film are becoming more and more acceptable to society…as they should.

Great film, i encourage the pondersome and open-minded to see!

I was not looking forward to this film at all…

And to be quite honest, i am still not…BUT you kind of got me on the fence now Dasha.

PS–I kind of have a phobia reagrding Cera, and be honest, will this film be the cure to his typecast characters in all his films. The kid makes me nervous, im not going to lie!

Can’t wait to see this movie, love Colin Firth!!!

Also very intrigued about seeing Ford’s directorial debut and your insights have created much anticipation. Always enjoy good cinematography, when the visual dynamics almost become another character in the movie. Not enough of that in movies of late.

I have been debating to see the movie, I have been following the media reviews and I felt it was not worth it putting one self to such brutally and raw reality for many. I am now encourage to see it, after reading your review, you have given the movie a different light – when you express that despite the terrible reality that it has, it can be inspiring to find inner strength among other things…..
