So, I know we’re supposed to appreciate the fine craft of filmmaking during TIFF, but let’s get real for a minute. Watching movies is my preferred activity in life but for most of us, the film fest is an excuse to stargaze in a way that we all claim is below us. Well, it’s certainly not below me, so it is with great pleasure that I confirm the attendance of pretty much every Hollywood star you can think of and more at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival....
For all you avid and eager action fans let me be the first to warn you this is not an action movie. The Book of Eli is a compilation of fables and parables mixed into a post-apocalyptic Western world hell-bent on preaching to audience members. That said the film is faithful in highlighting its star, Denzel Washington. There is no denying the suave and charming Washington on screen. His movie continue to draw audiences release after release. In this newest film Washington can only be described as simply “bad-ass”.
